Err. Everyone who is a guild leader is still a guild leader. Not *EVERYONE* is a guild leader. That would be... chaos. And that would be bad. Uhm, really. Chaos is..... fun? Wait, no... hilerious? No.... bad! Wait, no, hileirous is right. Anyway..

Welcome to the Chronicles of Auspicious Fate alliance!

We are dedicated to providing a fun, friendly, laid-back environment to play GW where everyone can be certain that, when forming an alliance group, a good time will be had by all. The alliance welcomes players of all ages and skill levels within its ranks, provided that they enhance the fun of the game for other members rather than detract from it.

(*Note: All ages and skill levels are accepted by the alliance, but individual member guilds may choose to place restrictions on age
and skill level as they desire.)

Additionally, since this is a game and meant to be enjoyed and played by everyone, the alliance will place a high priority on allowing members to play the game how they choose. For those in leadership positions, some administrative time will be necessary  (planning/mustering activities, an occasional discussion, etc), but care should be taken to not allow such things to be too intrusive on our schedules.

Beyond the above, the alliance has no in-game agenda. What goals you wish to accomplish with other alliance members are your own to pursue. Have fun!

----------------------------------------------------

Below are the alliance rules/guidelines. This list is not complete and will never be complete. When in doubt, you should remember the goals and spirit of this alliance to determine whether any action is appropriate.

LEADERSHIP: The current alliance leader is Rain over Pebbles, and policy decisions are made by him. Input and suggestions are welcome from anyone who wishes to give it, however, the alliance leader has the final say on all matters (with the exception of Guild recruitment, see below).

GUILDS:

1. All Guilds which are a part of the alliance must agree to the rules/guidelines of the alliance.
2. Guilds are responsible for recruiting members who will abide by the rules/guidelines of the alliance and not detract from the fun
of other members of the alliance. Members who consistently cause headaches among the alliance should be let go.
3. It should be a given that a guild which is part of the alliance should have some presence in the alliance, else there's little point to membership in the alliance. If a guild falls into this category, the leadership will reach out to that guild to determine if there are any problems, but if interaction is not established afterwards, the guild will be removed at the alliance leadership's discretion.

NEW GUILDS:

1. New Guilds will be added to the alliance with unanimous vote of all guilds who have been in the alliance for at least 30 days since they last joined. Any guild that does not qualify for a vote will be consulted. This rule will be completely and summarily ignored in the first 30 days of the alliance's existence. As penance for this gross violation of this rule, cake and ice cream must be eaten by all who participate in the breaking of this wonderful rule. Shame!

ALLIANCE CHAT:

More than anything else, Alliance chat is the most visible representation of our alliance. Players are exposed to alliance chat at all times,
and it is extremely important to maintain a fun environment on the channel (or at minimum, one that is not utterly obnoxious). Both Guild wars and this alliance serve as a respite for many from the stress and annoyance of everyday life - our goal is to facilitate a entertaining environment for everyone, and these policies are geared toward that goal.

As such, the following guidelines apply on alliance chat:

1. Begging, Spamming, using guilt trips to manipulate people into doing what you want (Nobody likes me because nobody will come do Ring of Fire with me! Boo Hoo!), are not allowed.
2. Sexually explicit conversation and profanity is not allowed. We generally shoot for a PG or light PG-13 rating approximately.
3. General chatting is allowed and encouraged.
4. Group mustering is encouraged, although attempts to get players should not be spammed.
5. Heated arguments about any particular topic should be taken off-channel. Either whisper or form a group in a guild hall. If needed, find a member of the alliance leadership to resolve the dispute.
6. Trading should be kept to a minimum. There will be other avenues to trade, although it is not entirely banned.
7. Do not post messages which involve solicitations to violate the terms of service of Guild Wars, or any other online game. This includes buying and selling gold, and buying and selling accounts.

If you feel that someone has violated these guidelines to an extent that it needs to be addressed, please take a screenshot of the content in question to the sender's guild leader and/or Rain Over Pebbles.

Individual member guilds may also have other policies about conducting yourself on alliance chat, and these should be followed as well. If there is a conflict, the more restrictive rule should be followed. Please note that guild chat is completely separate from alliance chat and is not affected by any of these regulations. Follow your guild's chat policies on that channel.

ALLIANCE EVENTS/TEAM CHAT/VOICE COMMUNICATION:

During alliance events, and when using voice communication software (Teamspeak/Ventrilo, etc.) the guidelines for alliance chat should be observed. This also applies when grouping with alliance members of different guilds UNLESS the group is familliar with each others' preferences and can agree on what content is socially acceptable for that party.

Updated the Alliance Charter. I added the request that all guilds run one event for the alliance per month, and added a note that the
content rules for alliance chat should be observed when using voice communication software as well. Also some purely cosmetic changes.

Updated the Alliance Charter:

1. Added a short explanation for why the alliance chat policies are as they are.
2. Added instructions to take a screenshot when faced with content that shouldn't be on alliance chat.

Updated the Alliance charter:

1. Changed the reference to "meetings" in the beginning to "discussion", since we tend to avoid meetings like the plague.
2. Removed the requirement for guilds to host 1 required activity a month because it caused more confusion than it was worth.

Updated the Alliance Charter:

1. Dom is right.
2. Gluing Loden to Nairy is STRICTLY forbidden. Not only are Nairys and Lodens not supposed to meld into one being, but it would wreak havoc upon the RoMSian ecosystem, throwing the predator/prey balance WAY off.
3. See Number One.
4. Monkish Opression bad, Rangers promote freedom, et cetera.
5. Rules 1 through 5 have always been in existence and always will. Calling this fact into question is strictly illegal and is punishable by kittens.
6. Note that these silly rules say nothing about TAPING them together. Or using plastic wrap. Or really powerful magnets attached to their clothing.
