As far as I know, they've only shown the biography creator. Character appearances are premade, and the full creator won't be around till the full version.
August 20, 2010, 11:00:37 PM
What little of the creator they've shown in the demo seems to be an abridged version. Both good and bad -- I'm about to die to see the whole thing, but looking forward to discovering it when the game actually comes out.

Necromancer profession was confirmed at one point or another, by the way.
August 18, 2010, 09:47:05 AM
In fact, I would say I'm even more excited, because I won't spoil the game too terribly for myself!
August 18, 2010, 09:26:03 AM
But I knew this. Still excited. CAN'T WAIT MAN. CAN'T WAIT. Gonna go buy a tent right now cause I'm camping outside Gamestop for the next half-year or so.
August 18, 2010, 08:03:52 AM
Just to make you feel a little bit worse, the purple dragon guy is in the demo... Sorry.
August 16, 2010, 04:39:17 PM
Gaaah. Just another day or so before gamescom starts. *WHY* does it have to be in Germany?? I would've totally tried to go. Wanting to see the demo SO bad...

The Battle of the Penderwydd Hooligans
Or how one Guild Leader can’t let sleeping Moodles lie

By Twylight, Princess of Cookiefolk

Despite the epic battle for the Penderwydd title last week, the self titled ‘Penderwydd Hooligans’ refused to recognize Myrddin The Embries as the rightful Penderwydd. They organized their own Mesmer only, battle royale  in Order of Pointed Sticks [OOPS] Guild Hall. Last night was the result of that planning as dozens of stylish Mesmers alighted on the OOPS guild hall like many colored, exotic birds, their hair stylishly done, not a single matching outfit among them. They handled themselves with grace and ease, exhibiting  their professions self-restraint. following an inspirational speech by Tegid Teles, the Penderwydd runner-up. He spoke of his striking good looks, and much like the now incarcerated Panthro Albright, Mr. Teles told how his good-looks added to the game in beneficial ways. After the speech he took some time for questions, “Snickerdoodles…their unique taste is a result of copious amounts of hairspray, which also keeps my hair in place.” He replied to a young woman’s question about how his looks affect the state of Snickerdoodles in Tyria.  He also flawlessly fielded an the accusation that his extreme good looks would make the upcoming battle unfair, he explained his handicap for the opposing team was completely fair, as he offered them all free makeovers.
The preparations for the battle begin soon after, however absent was the Penderwydd himself, not giving up, the supporters named Sky Coyote as his stand in, representing him in the battle.
The team rosters for the Battle were as follows:
Penderwydd Hooligans: No Oops Tax For You [RoMS], Namie Of Roses [RoMS], Mantra Of Aardvark [RoMS], Tegid Teles [RoMS] and his Norgu, Arhiannon Ystrad [OOPS], Vels Invernen [RoMS] and Mental Meswrecker [RoMS]
Penderwydd Supporters: Sky Coyote [RoMS], Naomi Van Baruse [RoMS], Tian Quien [?], Dimitri Pendragon [RAWR], Brid Fieth [RoMS], Senjen Deshaine [?], Nimue Tir Araika [RoMS/RAWR]

The Hooligans took a gutsy move and lacking an 8th player they included Norgu in their line up. in The battle started out with the Penderwydd supporters pushing back to Hooligans, and seemed to have the upper hand. However the first casualty was Naomi Van Baruse, on the blue team, while Tegid Teles fought for his life. 4:04 minutes in and the Hooligans had pushed back against the blues, causing two more casualties on the Supporters side, Tian Quien, and Sky Coyote, yet suffering of their own loses, Namie Of the Roses, and Vels Invernen. The Hooligans pushed harder forcing the Supporters back to their own gate, killing two more of the Supporters, Liiza Vil, and the resurrected Sky Coyote. By 9:34 minutes, the Supporters side was all but gone, except for Dimitri Pendragon and Nimue Tir Araika. The supporters seemed in dire straights, until their team resurrected and managed to push the Hooligan’s back, causing the rebel team to beat a hasty retreat for health and energy regeneration. By 13:14 the Hooligans managed to reclaim any lost ground they’d lost in the retreat. Supporter leader, Sky Coyote died, causing death reporters to stop keeping track of individual deaths, leaving only four Supporters still standing as they continued to battle; their teammates quickly resurrected and joined the fray. At 18:50 horror hit the Hooligans as one of their members was disconnected from the game, shunted into reality in a cruel and unfair way. Still, they managed to keep the upper hand, by 19:27 the teams NPC’s joined the battled, pushing to the middle as an all out battle took place. The Guild Lords battled strongly for their respected teams as the teams worked to protect them. The last stand was on and it lasted 3 grueling minutes. The Hooligans slew all but one Supporter, and the Supporters claimed the lives of five Hooligans. At 22:40 it was all over, Tegid Teles stood over the dead body of the Supporters Guild Lord, causing instant death to that team.

Victorious the Hooligans took little time in partaking of victory Nachos before vowing to fight the Penderwydd in the near future. The Supporters licked their wounds and talked themselves into believing that had their Penderwydd been there, they would have surely won.

The aftermath of the battle didn’t bode well for many, Mantra of Aardvark was accused of killing her mini Moodle, Liiza Vil. Protesting it was in her own self defense Ms. Aardvark submitted this statement:
“I deeply regret my action, and hope that my beloved Mini Moodle will realize that what I did was in self defense. Had I let her live through the battle I would surely have died, and let my team down. This was a battled for the honor of the Penderwydd, and she chose her side knowing full well how I felt about Mr. Embries. We’ll both go through therapy in an effort to heal any emotional wounds that might need help for healing, and I’ve paid for all of her medical bills. It’s regrettable that the press is making such a big deal about this but there is no helping it at this point.”
Ms. Aardvark was not available for any questions after this statement.

Other treachery was discovered when Arhiannon Ystrad was killed during a bout of disconnection during the battle. She asserts that it was treacherous and underhanded the way the Supporters side barraged her helpless and non-threatening form killing her while she was out of body. She was prompt to ask for an investigation of who killed her, however Sky Coyote stepped forward and admitted that it was he. His statement, while seen by a few to be an honorable owning of his guilt, was generally taken as a bragging right. Ms. Ystrad admitted she felt betrayed by her guild mate but refused to take the pity of others, retreating to what was left of her loyal family and guildmates with no comment.

While this battle was supposed to have been the end of the strife surrounding the newly crowned Penderwydd, it seems to have inflamed if more. The glaring absence of the Penderwydd, the fighting which split guilds and Moodle owners forced to kill their on Moodles seems to have opened more pain, instead of healing it.

Dragon Festival Times Two!
Or the perils of demon masks

A Review by Lunar Yue Fyo (Cupcake Princess)dorova

Many gathered in Shing Jea monastery this weekend to participate in the Dragon Festival Redux hosted by the Canthan Emperor. The purpose was to renact the original Dragon Festival which was interrupted by grasps and demons. Actors, renacting the demons and grasps staged the various quests and missions to renact the previous year. The Boardwalk was also opened for game and the Rollerbeetle races made for much merriment.Within the CoAF alliance many strived for their Unlucky and Lucky titles, one gained it. Nia Tir Araika [RoMS/RAWR] received her Lucky title just as the unfortunate events of the Penderwydd Hooligan battle began.

The main event kicked off on Sunday at midnight with the Emperor making appearances every two hours to bequeath ‘Demon Masks’ to the participants. An added bonus was if the citizens could ‘beat’ a game, upon winning presents appeared for all, should the citizens lose, the Grasp reactors had the ability to ‘kill’ the citizens at their whim, most of whom seemed to enjoy that power immensely.

As for the event it’s self, one could wish that it had been handled better. The renactors of the grasps were dressed shoddily in nothing but what seemed to be their underwear, or poorly made dancers outfits. The renactors of the Imperial Guard frequently missed their lines and could be heard grumbling under their breaths about being hungry, their costumes seemed ill-fit and many of the career Imperial Guards were insulted over this mockery of their jobs.
“We work very hard to have the privilege of wearing this uniform, and now the event planners have found an illiterate, starving, hippy actor to wear the uniform and act the part. What ‘part’ this is who we are!” One guard said, she refused to be identified but she seemed extremely upset over the token quests.

Equally as disheartening was the labeling of the festival presents, or ‘fesitval’ presents as they were titles. Sources within the Imperial Palace say that the Emperor was just as upset about this mistake as the populace seemed to be. Speaking of the Emperor, it’s this loyal citizens humble feelings that his heart in the event as lacing. He fumbled and missed his lines and was heard grumbling about the actors that had been hired.

The revelry of the boardwalk games, rollerbeetle racing the exquisite sweets, drinks and amazing fireworks seemed to make up for all the inadequacies of the weekend and many families left with arms full of presents and goodies. This seemed to be the salvation of the event, the games and sweets, yet it still lacked the, punch of the events dually staged in the lands of Tyria and Elona.
All in all, this was not the greatest event to grace the lands of Cantha, this reviewer is looking forward to seeing the Kurzick Costume Festival in House Zu Heltzer in October and the Luxon Turtle Days in Cavalon come November. However the Imperial House had better wait another year before they attempt any more large scale events.

I just realized what Feith meant by the supporters side being 1 down... I thought he meant someone disconnected, but there were only 7 people on your side to begin with? Sorry, we thought you were full, or else we wouldn't have brought Norgu.

Good game guys, and thanks for being good sports about the miscommunication.

Reports of my injuries have been greatly exaggerated. One of the Moodle Mystical qualities is the ability to appear dead when in fact we are merely napping. Naps are good especially during PvP because Moodles tend to get overwhelmed and these little naps provide a pleasant respite from the grueling toils of war.

Though my dress may have been a bit singed but Fyo (Cupcake Princess) took care of the dry cleaning bill.
