Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News!

 Penderwydd is Chosen
Or
Why you shouldn’t tease Male Mesmers about Riverdance.

Imperial Isle - Tonight in a stunning display of superiority, the penderwydd, High Bard of the Alliance was chosen. Tegid Teles [OOPS] faced off against Myrddin The Embries [OOPS], at the Order of Pointed Sticks [OOPS] Guild Hall. The event, sponsored by OOPS, of the Chronicles of Auspicious Fate (CoAF) Alliance, was well attended by members from The Moodle Conspiracy [tMC] Guild , Ready and Willing [RAWR] Guild, and The Roses of the Moonlight Sigil [RoMS] Guild, all guilds from the CoAF Alliance.

The opening ceremonies started the event off with much merriment, two speakers and one musical performance, interspersed with drinks and potions, tastefully, yet disappointingly absent were snickerdoodles. Rogan Of Ebertoni, gave a lecture titled “Lead into Gold or How to Use Lead to Create Wealth”, with a short overview of leads history and use, as well as the economic and alchemistic principles of the transfusion of lead into gold. Followed by “Monking or To Smite or not to Smite: Monking in 13th Century Elona” a candid talk by Rain Over Pebbles on the principles of monking. “Monking is like an orange.” He said, as his listeners took copious notes about his many tricks of the trade. He instructed his audience to have blank skill bars, which was a way to throw their enemies off guard. His speech ended the teaching part of the evening, and the real treat before the three part duel was the musical performance by. CoAF Alliance’s very own, Dwayna Award winning, W.U.R.M. nominated; Nudger Band. Despite the negative publicity the groups been having in regards to the way the groups lead singer, The Artful Nudger does (or rather doesn’t) dress, and the cry from many of the conservatives in Kaineng to blacklist them, they performed stunningly. They performed an old classic in “The Sick Note” and their new hit single, “Donald, Where’s your Trousers.” Both songs garnered audience cheers and was a fitting opening for the nights main event; The Battle for Penderwydd.
The combatants, both striking Mesmers participated in the battle consisting of three separate match’s, the first; Mesmer only skills, second; Illusionary Weaponry, and a third.

The crowd in place, each combatant with his supporters in place behind him began when Master of Ceremonies said “Go”, purple sparkles filled the air as Hexes were exchanged, flying through the air. The men spun, casting spell after spell, but only one came out on top, Tegid Teles won the first match, hands down. However it was a close match and the audience wondered if he could pull the battle off as they resigned for the next match.

The next match; Illusionary Weaponry, started uneventfully with Tegid trailing by a small margin as the two fought. Halfway through the battle, it became noticeable that an audience member from Tegid Teles’ side was interfering with the battle, the interloper was quickly chased off the field, but not before a fan scuffle ensued, leaving one monk, Rain Over Pebbles, the esteemed speaker dead on the battlefield. Shocked at this betrayal and murder of their Guild Leader, Roses of the Moonlight Sigil [RoMS] Guild quickly resigned to revive their Guild Leader. Bitter but not beaten, they rallied around their champion, Tegid, as the match restarted. However within a few moments it was shown Tegid was in trouble, he lost the match, by a margin, making the total competition 1-1.

The third round ensued but it was decisive within a few moments, Tegid fell. Myrddin The Embries was hailed as the penderwydd, High Bard of the Alliance. Pulling off a 2-1 victory with ease. An altercation started by the new penderwydd’s fans soon stole his spotlight as Tegid’s supporters fought back for their lives. A short scuffle resulted in the Tegid supporters loss. Several of The penderwydd’s supporters were heard muttering how ‘appropriate it was’ that they won.
Despite the drama of the night, a new era has dawned in the CoAF Alliance, Myrddin The Embries has shouldered the right, privilege, snickerdoodle representative and burden of being High Bard of the Alliance, The Penderwydd.

Your referencing of snikerdoodles was a stroke of genius!  Sorry I missed it, but thanks for keeping all of us who could not attend up to date with style.
