While March came in like a Hydra, it did leave as a rabbit; ushering in the explosiveness of April that is only challenged by the Festival Fireworks of Shing Jea.
For the God's and Goddesses of the world again turned it upside-down on April 1st. Possibly as a cry from the Patron Goddess of Mini-Pets, we that once owned them, became them. For one single, solitary day, we were the pets of our pets, and while April 2nd saw a leap in revenue for the psychiatrists and psychologists of Lion's Arch, Kamadan and Keineng Center, it was all in good fun. Many failed Pokemon battles were attempted, and thanks was given to the God's for not allowing the mini-pets to take full control.
Images of April 1st
As the world was still reeling from the shock of April First, more blessings from the God's were given as they bequeathed us with drops of golden eggs and chocolate bunnies. May groups entered the elite area's of the world for such drops, one such group comprised of a joint effort of RoMS and OOPS as well as a wayward friend from another alliance, entered the Fissure of Woe. Lead by the spirit of a deathly ill Loden Van Baruse and a tired Arzu Ashurbeyli they entered the world of death, doom, and battle knitting. They pressed on for hours, taking a short repose for a picnic in the cave of spiders. This was much to the chagrin of one Freedom Bound; and then continued on into the forest, the beach and other scenic places before finishing the area and collecting their pressed penny.
But perhaps the biggest highlight of March and April is the declaration of War in Kryta. While unrest has been the norm for years in the land of Kryta between two factions; The White Mantle and The Shining Blade, the rumblings of war have been slow. That all came to a head this week when it was officially proclaimed. It seems far off and abstract to the everyday person as these two factions battle, however it has many economic and geopolitical issues. Terror swept through Lions Arch, while travel remains intact to LA from foreign ports, people question 'How long?' One citizen of Kamadan commented "We just don't know. The Tyrians have more problems than we do. For now we stock up on all the Krytan Ale we can." Tyrians worry about the importing of silk from Cantha, and fur from Elona. Those outside of Kryta question the country's economic stability. One terrified Ascalonian immigrant commented on moving her family to Elona, not wanting her family to live through another war.
Other fears include those who see the providence splitting into two, as Cantha did years ago, which rings it's own fears of travel between the two factions, economics and political power.
While both sides are intent upon winning, neither were available for comment.
For now, there is just one thought in the minds of all those effected: who's side they on?
